Memorable Moments, 2023: More Milestones For Mayo At MOC

It’s hard not to get inspired whenever you see para-athlete Delmace Mayo on the track. Among some of the accomplishments from Mayo, who competes for Brighton High, are seven gold medals at the Move United Junior Nationals in Denver last summer and a national crown for the mile at the New Balance Nationals in mid March. He’s excelled at an elite level in events ranging from the 100-meter dash to the two mile and is considered one of the country’s finest. To no one’s surprise, especially us here at BSR, Mayo continued his success at the Meet of Champions with a pair of PR performances at Fitchburg State University. The Brighton standout clocked a time of 9 minutes, 37.97 for the two mile and dipped under two minutes for the first time for 800 meters where he was timed in 1:58.0.12.
