Lexington holds steady at the top after securing another ML-12 Championship on Monday, defending their crown from Winchester. Keep an eye out for the Merrimack Valley Conference Championships where Billerica will compete.
Standing out this week and returning to the rankings are Notre Dame Academy. They won the girl’s Catholic Conference Championship a few weeks ago and ran well at the Catholic Memorial Invitational. A few of their athletes also ran well at the Mayor’s Cup Championship. While Billerica are most likely out of reach, if NDA can stay consistent and perform well together, they will have a strong chance of finishing runner-up in Division 1C.
Wachusett is another team that we had our eye on early and this past weekend’s Midland Wachusett League Championship showed why. Wachusett won with an impressive score of 25 by putting five runners in the top 10 and seven in the top 15. Based on their average time of 19:27, they should be in the mix for Division 1. Senior Naomi Witt got the win in 18:25.
This Saturday we have plenty of of meets to keep an eye. Of particular note with be the Bay State Conference Championship, one of a few meets at Wrentham that day. That meet will feature four teams from our top 20 and four more from out Honorable mention list.
