It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Lucas Andrade.
While his season didn’t quite end the way he wanted with an injury at the Division 1 Championships putting a halt to his spring campaign, the Brockton senior still left his mark before embarking on his collegiate career at the University of Rhode Island this fall. Just a few months after breaking the 110-meter hurdle state record and also earning All American status at the New Balance Nationals, Andrade added the 110m HH state mark to his resume. The talented hurdler earned that record on May 10 when he won his specialty at the MSTCA Coaches Shore Invitational. Andrade beat a strong field handedly with a time of 13.69 seconds. His time eclipsed the 2022 mark of 13.82 by former Winchester great Easton Tan.
