So far this fall we’ve been talking about weather as much as running. Mother Nature has had an unprecedented run of victories this fall, claiming yet another meet this past weekend. That said, there were still some great results on Saturday.
Here is Week Five:
1. Lexington
2. Billerica
3. Concord Carlisle
4. Newton North
5. Whitinsville Christian
6. Winchester
7. Mt. Greylock
8. Amherst
9. Boston Latin
10. Greater Lowell
11. Bishop Feehan
12. Needham
13. North Adnover
14. Weymouth
15. Wellesley
16. Northampton
17. Hamilton-Wenham
18. Norwell
19. Natick
20. Braintree
It’s not often that you win an invitational over the weekend and then lose your next dual meet. Unless you’re in the Middlesex League that is. On Saturday Winchester had an impressive performance to win the Devin’s Pre Meet of Champions. They had to follow that up with a dual meet against US #28 Lexington. While they fell to the Minutewomen, they topped Bishop Feehan at Devin’s 46-50. Julia Ramsey won the day with an impressive 19:10 over the challenging course. Bishop Feehan returns to our rankings after a strong performance placing all seven runners in the top 20. Keep an eye on #1 Lexington as they passed on Wickham Park this past weekend. They may look to get another invitational in the books to help bolster they chances at getting a wild card spot for NXN.
Mt. Greylock returns to our list as well after making a big statement at Twilight. They took the small school’s race with a score of 77 topping multiple ranked teams. They had an average time of 19:28 and topped defending Division 3 Champs Greater Lowell Tech.
Whitinsville Christian had another impressive performance taking the medium school’s race with a score of 59 to Amherst Pelham’s 70. While they continue to rely on a very strong top three, their 4-6 runners continue to improve. There are now five schools from either Division 2 or 3 in our top ten.
This weekend of racing will be interesting as most of our Division 1 schools missed out Sunday night. Franklin Park may be the place to be Saturday as many of out top teams look to add an invitational to their schedule.

Lexington and Billerica are registered for the Showcase race in the VA Showcase. Lots of top national competition to benchmark those teams. I guess they are both making the case for NXN (or Running Lane Gold). The live stream will be a good watch.
I knew they were running something in VA just couldn’t remember what race. Thanks.
Billerica and Lexington girls are actually traveling to the Virginia Showcase this Saturday, where they will face each other along with other top ranked teams from the Northeast and Southeast regions, including Penn Charter, Union Catholic.
I don’t usually care much about rankings, but Milton girls really need to be ranked, probably in the top 10. They beat us (Weymouth), Natick (easily), and just lost a close one against Needham. Likewise, Needham just beat #4 NN. I suppose there’s not much info with twilight being cancelled, but those results are clear
Thanks. I’ll admit I haven’t been able to keep up with dual meet results as much as I had last year. Looks like Milton beat Wellesley as well. I don’t always know how to weigh dual meets. Some teams appear to breeze through them, sometimes even holding their varsity out (or “tempoing” it) in favor of bigger meets. However, to your point, with two of the biggest meets getting canceled, dual meets should hold more weight. I’ll keep a closer eye on Milton.
