Preseason Cross Country Rankings Girls #4: Concord-Carlisle

#4 Concord-Carlisle

It’s double Concord-Carlisle at #4. The girls return their entire squad from the team that finished fourth at the Meet of Champions. They have everything you could want in a potential championship team.

Up front they have individual contender Maria Chopas. She was fourth last year at the Meet of Champions and has only gotten better since, blazing a 10:29 two mile outdoors. Emma Kjaersgaard and Pelin Turner finished 30th and 34th last season and will look to close the gap on Chopas this season. Skelly and Daglish also finished near each other running 19:56 and 19:58 to crack 20 minutes at Devins. That’s just their top five…and their times from last year.

Lilliana Miles and Abigail Adams were their sixth and seventh runners last year and had strong spring seasons. Miles ran 5:14 for the mile while Adams hit 5:22. Then there’s Allison Sheppard. She was down the depth chart last XC season, running 20:50 for 5K. However, this spring she ran 11:29, the second fastest two mile on a very strong team. She could figure anywhere into their top seven.

This is a team that could win a state title most seasons. If someone is going to pull off the upset this year, it’s the Concord-Carlisle Girls.

Projected Top 5:

Maria Chopas 18:26

Emma Kjaersgaard 19:06

Pelin Turner 19:14

Alex Skelly 19:36

Felicity Daglish 19:38
