#4 Concord-Carlisle
Concord-Carlisle entered 2025 as one of, if not the favorite, to win it all in November. While things didn’t come together quite that way, there were flashes of brilliance. While they might not be as deep as they were in 2025, we don’t score cross country meets with 10 runners. However, the 2026 team may have more speed up front this year.
Cue in Braeden Quayle, Jackson Misek, and Sawyer Bout. All three finished the year strong in spring track and ran between 9:34 and 9:20 for two miles. Misek was only a sophomore last year and emerged as one of the state’s best. He ran his PR of 16:06 at the Division 1B race and followed that with strong track seasons. Don’t count out Cameron Smack either. We don’t know for sure, but it appears he may have been injured last year as he missed most of the indoor season. If he can get back to top form, Concord-Carlisle will have four runners that could finish at the front of any race.
Ryan Perry and Toby Martel are interesting because while they lean more towards speed on the track, they both have strong XC credentials. Martel ran his PR of 16:34 at Devins and Perry ran 16:26 at Wrentham. Even with their current PRs, this team is formidable. It will be exciting to see how they improve for 2026.
