Throughout the next few weeks, Bay State Running will be putting the spotlight on some of the top performances of the outdoor track and field season. While we’ve had our share of showstoppers over the past few months, these are the moments that we feel stood out the most and left the biggest impression.

While he has demonstrated the talent to excel since his freshman year at Brookline, Harry Flint elevated his game to near-elite status as a junior during the 2024-25 season, fueled by a never-count-me-out confidence that became his trademark.
By his senior year, there was no longer any doubt. The UMass Amherst commit firmly established himself as one of the state’s premier middle-distance runners, producing a long list of memorable performances that included the state indoor 600-meter title and the outdoor 800m crown this past year.
But among all the accomplishments Flint compiled as a senior, his greatest performance may have come in his last high school meet.
In a span of roughly four hours on the final day of the New Balance Nationals in mid-June, the Brookline standout delivered a pair of sub-1:51 performances in the 800m. His 1:50.7 split on Brookline’s distance medley relay proved instrumental in the Warriors earning All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in 10:00.71. Later that afternoon, Flint returned to the track to place second in his heat and eighth overall in the Championship 800m, clocking a personal-best 1:50.00. He finished just 0.03 seconds away from earning All-American honors a second time in the same day—a fitting exclamation point to a remarkable high school career.
