Record Turnout Expected At Saturday’s Catholic Memorial

A record 1,000-plus are expected to converge at Franklin Park this Saturday for the 62nd annual Catholic Memorial Invitational, sponsored by HOKA and Marathon Sports. One of the longest running cross-country meets in New England always attracts quality competition to the starting line, and it will be no different this weekend. Once entries close on Thursday we’ll let you know some of the top teams that will hitting the trails at Franklin Park. The meet is open to schools from MA, NH, RI, VT & CT.

In last year’s meet, Uxbridge’s Aidan Ross clocked the fastest time of the day, winning the Red Race with a time of 15 minutes, 32.59 seconds. Peabody’s Logan Tracia was a victor in the Silver Race, clocking 17:03.94. For the girls’ varsity, Macey Shriner of Plymouth North, was the first across the line. She was timed in 19:29.52.

Our State Running team will be on site, providing complete coverage for the meet with video footage of all the race, photos, interviews and more! T-shirts and other great merchandise will also be on sale at the meet.

9 a.m. – Freshmen Girls 3K (sub 19 minutes)

9:25 – Freshmen Boys 3K (sub 15 minutes)

9:45 – JV Girls’ 5K (sub 30 minutes)

10:30 – JV Boys’ 5K (sub 27 minutes)

11:00 – Varsity Girls’ 5K (10 runners per team)

11:30 – Varsity Boys’ Red Race 5K (10 runners per team)

12:00 – Varsity Boys’ Silver Race 5K (10 runners per team)
