HOKA Athletes Of The Week: Barnstable’s Ava Bullock, Lincoln-Sudbury’s Ethan Sholk

The Bay State Invitational at Fort Devens produced our latest HOKA Athletes of the Week. Congratulations to Ava Bullock of Barnstable and Ethan Sholk of Lincoln-Sudbury, our female and male recipients for this week’s honor.

Bullock, an eighth-place finisher at the Division 1B Championship and Meet of Champions, proved she progressing nicely as the fall season hits the midway point. In the Varsity B race, she claimed the top prize with the fastest time of the day of 19:22.1, a comfortable 70 meters ahead of runner-up Bridget Reidy of Wellesley.

As for Sholk, he was one of five runners to crack 16 minutes on the 5K course. The Lincoln Sudbury junior wasn’t the fastest on Saturday. That distinction belonged to Greater Lowell Tech’s Devin Moreau, who ran 15:32.7 in the Varsity A Race. It was Sholk that certainly won the most exciting race of the day. The Warriors standout captured the Varsity C race with a winning time of 15:50.6. He held off Brookline teammates Kailas Ciatto (second, 15:51.1) and Ben Kasen (third, 15:54.9).
