Over the next few weeks, BSR will highlight some of the finer performances by our track & field athletes. Congratulations to all our athletes. If you didn’t make our list, it doesn’t mean you were forgotten. Your hard work and dedication certainly made it another memorable season as a whole for us here at BSR.

Memorable Moments, 2023: Everett Wins BSR Mile

As been typical each season, there’s several performances we could list here for Amelia Everett that would be considered memorable. There was her second-place finish for 800 meters at the Nike Outdoor Nationals last month. There was also her big win at TrackNight NYC in mid-May where she beat a talented field in the two -lapper with a season-best of 2:07.94. You can’t forget her two victories at the Meet of Champions where she claimed gold in the mile and 800m, too. Among all her great performances, the one we picked for here is the very first one she competed at to begin her spring season. In our inaugural BSR Elite Scholastic Mile at Marshfield High on May 5, the Stanford-bound senior was a dominant force, clocking her all-time best of 4:47.97 in a race she took charge from the start. Everett led four others under five minutes with an effort that ranked No. 10 in the country at the time.
