#16 Mt. Greylock Regional
Last year a young team from Mt. Geylock Regional finished third overall in Division 3. That team had two eighth graders and a seventh grader in their top seven. That majority of that team is back for 2026 and will look to go one step further and win the D3 crown.
Senior Cornelia Swaybey returns as their top runner with a PR of 19:43 from the Western Mass XC Championships. She was their top scorer at the Meet of Champions finishing in 27th overall. Not far behind was Bridgit Holland in 29th overall as just a seventh grader. A few spots back was incoming sophomore Riley Mae Dickinson at 32nd.
Also returning are incoming freshmen Ani KoaMaya and Lucy Gregg. KoaMaya has the second fastest 5K PR on the team, running 20:11 at the Western Mass Championships where she was sixth overall. Gregg competed at all three championship meets last season, finishing 20th at the Division 1C race.
What can we expect from this young team? Can a group consisting primarily of underclassmen win a state title? As we mentioned before, it can be hard to put a lot of expectations on younger runners. However, most of this team has already seen the state’s biggest competitions. We see a lot of upside with this team for years to come.
Projected Top 5
Cornelia Swabey 19:43
Ani KoaMaya 20:11
Riley Mae Dickinson 20:11
Bridget Holland 20:14
Lucy Gregg 20:38
