It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Newton North’s Skye Petrie-Cameron.
The Tigers’ talented senior was one of our most consistent performers in the shot put where she exceeded 40 feet each time she stepped in the circle. After finishing second at the Meet of Champions, Petrie-Cameron earned her first New England title with a heave of 41 feet, 0.15 inches. Her top performance of the season came on May 26 where she won the Division 1 crown with a PR of 45-2. At the time, her effort was a three foot best. It also ranks No. 4 on the state’s all-time list.
