Memorable Moments, 2024: Keyi-Aboagye Earns 200m Gold At Meet Of Champions

It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Sharon’s Nina Kyei-Aboagye.

The future looks bright for our young and upcoming stars. Adding validity to that statement came at the Meet of Champions this past spring where four sophomores earned gold at the season-ending competition. Kyei-Aboagye was one of them, saving her best for last against the state’s elite. The Warriors’ speedy tenth-grader posted an upset over top seed Sarah Claflin of Pembroke to win the 200-meter dash where she blazed to a time of 23.97 seconds. She finished a half second ahead of Claflin with her first and only sub 24-second clocking of the season. The following week at the New England Championships, the Sharon standout would place second in the 200m to eventual national champion Lisa Raye of West Warwick (RI).
