#3 Lexington
Is this the year for the Minutemen? Lexington has had a strong young group that’s been building too this point for a few years. Senior Patrick Noonan has accomplished the rare feat of competing in the last three Meet of Champions, finishing eighth last November. This fall he’ll be looking for both the individual title and the team title.
On paper, their PRs from the ML-12 Championship jump out. While that course is notoriously fast, even if you go to their second fastest times, their returning team is impressive. Arguably their best performance last season was the D1A Championships. Noonan was third and the number two returnee overall. After that they have another four runners coming back that finished in the top 35
However, if Lexington wants to win it all, their top five can’t just be good, they need to be great. Trevor Stephens had a big spring running 9:22 for the two mile. If that speed translates to the grass he should be up with Noonan fighting at the front of everything race. Two runners in the top 10 at the Meet of Champions would be huge.
The Minutemen also have more runners coming up that could add depth or shake up the top seven. Rhys Beling had a strong spring running 9:45 for two miles and should run up at the front. Andrew Zhang cracked ten minutes, running 9:58 and should figure into their top seven.
Lexington have been right there in terms of winning it all the last few seasons. 2026 could be the year. With their depth they’ll be a fun team to watch.
