Preseason Cross Country Rankings Girls #12: Boston Latin Academy

#12 Boston Latin Academy

The defending Division Two champions come in at #12 for our 2026 preseason rankings. They return this season with five of their top seven, including their top three from the Meet of Champions.

Sara Blano, Anjuli Claire Szydlo, and Maya Jo Friedman finished 14th, 27th, and 29th last year in route to Boston Latin Academy’s win. Top returnee Sara Blanco won the Division 2A race in an impressive 19:38 over the challenging Northfield Mountain course, making her one of the top returning runners overall.

Anjuli Claire Szydlo returns with a PR of 19:48 from the Twilight meet, while Maya Jo Friedman ran her best race at the Meet of Champions, clocking 20:19 over the Fort Devins course. The Dragons should have the strongest top three in D2. But what about after that?

Maddy Lemay was their fifth runner last season and ran one of her strongest races at the MOC, with a 20:42. Ava Lily Levine Fried was their seventh runner that day and comes in with a PR of 21:59. On paper Boston Latin Academy appears to be the top team in D2 again, but Levine Fried will want to close the gap on Lemay to hold off all other contenders.
