Memorable Moments, 2024: Balewicz Races To State’s First Sub-9 Two Mile

It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here’s we feature Nashoba Regional’s Adam Balewicz.

Massachusetts had an impressive four runners break nine minutes in the two mile this season, matching California and Utah has the most sub-9s produced by a single state. For the Bay State, the first to do it was Balewicz. On May 4 at Regis College, the talented senior captured individual honors for the deuce at the Weston Twilight Invitational with a then best of 8:59.79. Balewicz would improve on that effort just a few weeks later by finishing third in an epic 2M at the Meet of Champions with a PR of 8:56.95.
