Memorable Moments, 2023: Emmanuel Goes Sub-47 At D1s
It was billed as one of the must-see events. In a absolute insane 400-meter race during Day 2 of the MIAA Division I Championships, Malden’s Johnny Emmanuel proved untouchable with a winning time and all-time best of 46.99 seconds. Emmnauel effort was the second fastest time for the one-lapper in state history and led eight runners under 50 seconds at Merrimack College. The gifted senior would go on to win his specialty at the Meet of Champions a week later. Just recently, Emmnauel earned gold at the USATF-NE Junior Olympic Championships on June 24 where he was timed in 48.02.
