HOKA Female Athlete Of The Week: Sarah Dumas, Franklin

As to be expected, the MIAA Meet of Champions had a plethora of outstanding performances this past weekend. Guess that’s what happens when you have the best track & field athletes in the state on the same stage.

While there were certainly many to chose from this past weekend’s meet, this week’s female recipient of the HOKA Athlete of the Week belongs to one. Congratulations to Franklin’s Sarah Dumas for this week’s honor. The versatile senior, along with Newton South’s Amelia Everett (mile and 800m), was a double winner at the MOC. Dumas dominated the field in both her events. On Thursday, the Panthers’ standout captured the pentathlon with 3,341 points She won three of the five events, placing first in the 100m hurdles (14.58), high jump (5-3) and the 800m (2:33.21) and was 300 points ahead of her closest rival. Dumas concluded the two-day meet on Sunday with a strong time of 14.37 for the 100m HH.
