Day 2 Highlights
Aidan Calcano Da Silva just showed he belongs amongst the nation’s best. The Abington Junior has been on a tear as of late over both hurdles and the flat 400. That culminated in a season best 51.96 to finish third overall at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. That’s one of the best times in Massachusetts history and inches closer to Ryan Kyles record set just last year. Aidan is not done yet, as he and his teammates, including twin Nathan, will look to lower their state record 4x400m mark.
Varela Just Misses All-American
While she just missed the podium by finishing eighth overall, Solana Varela concluded an incredible season. Up to this point she was undefeated over the 400m Hurdles, including the 300m distance she ran at New Englands. At Franklin field today she raced to 1:00.68, one of her best times on the season.
We’ll continue to update with results throughout the day
