The Twilight Invitational isn’t the only show in town this weekend.
Twenty-nine high school teams and five middle school squads will make Willard Park in Fort Devens their destination on Saturday for the inaugural Devens Pre-Championship Classic, presented by Marathon Sports and New Balance.
The meet, which takes place on the same course that will host next month’s Meet of Champions, features a loaded boys’ field that includes three of the top six teams in our New Balance Power Rankings — No. 1 Concord-Carlisle, No. 4 Cambridge Rindge & Latin, and No. 6 Boston College High. Newton North, ranked No. 18, is also scheduled to compete.
It’s equally impressive on the girls’ side with five of the top 20 in our New Balance Power Rankings expected to square off — No. 4 Winchester, No. 6 Newton North, No. 7 Westwood, No. 8 Concord Carlisle and No. 14 Cambridge Rindge & Latin.
