Runners To Watch: Oxford’s Cameron Davis

From the time she was an eighth-grader finishing seventh at the Meet of Champions, Cameron Davis has stood out as one of Division 3’s finest. As a sophomore last year, the consistently strong Davis earned her well-deserved reward with her first individual MOC title, breaking the tape in 18:20.5 — a comfortable 35-second margin over her closest pursuer.

In the fall of 2024, the Pirates’ standout delivered a stellar year on the trails against her Massachusetts rivals, never finishing lower than third in any race. Along with her MOC victory, Davis claimed the Small Division title at the Bob Glennon Twilight Invitational in 17:53.5 and nearly matched that time with a 17:53.6 win at the Division 3C meet, where she successfully defended her crown. She also clocked a personal best of 17:43.0 at Wrentham to take runner-up honors in the Small School Junior/Senior race of the Frank Mooney Invitational.

In defense of her MOC title this fall, Davis won’t have it easy — seven of last year’s top 10 finishers are also returning, setting up another highly competitive showdown.
