7. Westwood
Last we saw Westwood they were winning the 4x800m at the Meet of Champions in a blistering 9:17. Unfortunately for their competition, that entire squad returns and will be running this fall. They also return six of the seven runners that won the Division 2 race at the Meet of Champions last November. That quartet from the 4×800 along with incoming sophomore Ciara Chi will make up the top 5 for a strong Westwood team that should contend all season long.
Westwood is led by one of the best runners in the state in Tea Pagnotti. She may specialize in the middle-distance races but she’s no slouch on the trails having run 18:18 for 5K. She was also fifth at the Meet of Champions helping them secure the win.
Susannah Rockers and Maeve Gavin both ran under 20 minutes season to help round out their top three. They were top 30 at the MOC and have exceptional speed on the track. The fourth member of their 4x800m, Hailey Cashman, returns with a 20:27 PR and will help Westwood as they look to repeat at the Meet of Champions. After a strong freshmen season, Ciara Chi should round out the top five on this strong squad.
