8. Central Catholic
Central Catholic is perhaps the most interesting team on our rankings. They return a strong squad led by Lila Christy, 19:26, and Rachel Asasira, 19:36, up front. As a freshmen last season, Calista King was right there with them, running 20:06 at the Meet of Champions. She finished second for the Raiders there, and was their third runner at the Divisional Meet. Overall, they return six runners that have run under 21 minutes.
However, their top runner may end up being another freshmen from last season. Kyla Breslin did not compete over the 5K distance last season. She did win both freshmen races she entered at 3K and 4K, and then followed that up with a 5:03 Mile this outdoor season. Adding her to the mix makes this team a lot more dangerous. If Breslin does end up being their top runner, that makes their depth even more impressive and tough to deal with. Central Catholic was third in Division 1B last season, and could challenge for the win. However, to do so, they’ll have to top another team on this list.
