Preseason Boys #12: Wellesley

12. Wellesley

As previous mentioned, the Bay State Conference is one of the strongest in the state. This next team is a great example of just how good you need to be to compete at the top. Wellesley lines up well with our previous few teams team, but this is where crucial seconds at each spot matter.

Heading into next season, Wellesley has four runners at 16:52 or better and a fifth runner at 17:21. Sami Juma is their top returnee with a 16:19 PR from the Bay State Conference Meet where he was 13th and their top runner. He helped Wellesley finish in third place, behind two teams that will appear later on this list.

Where the raiders stand to make the largest gains is farther back in the pack. Alexander Bonnette and Henry Ofenloch has strong outdoor seasons running 9:54 and 4:31 respectively. If they make a big jump this fall, perhaps join Juma in the top 15 at the Bay State Championship, Wellesley could make moves in the conference and the division.

Projected Top 5:

12. Alexander Bonnette        16:48

12. Henry Ofenloch               16:52

11. Liam Fitzpatrick               17:21
