Spotlight On Talent: Anthony Malakidis, North Attleboro High
Malakidis experienced his best season on the trails in 2025, continuing an impressive progression in the Division 1 race at the Meet of Champions. After finishing 99th as a freshman and 44th as a sophomore, he made a major jump as a junior, placing sixth last year.
Will the fourth time be the charm?
There is certainly reason to believe it could happen this fall. Malakidis is the No. 2 returning finisher from the MOC, having finished less than three seconds behind fellow Brookline standout Liam Hartmann, who is also back for his final season of cross country.
The North Attleboro standout was at his best during the second half of his junior campaign, breaking 16 minutes for five kilometers in four of his final five meets. That stretch included a season-best 15:32.9 to take runner-up honors for the second straight year at the Hockomock League Championships. He also clocked 15:50 at Wrentham to place fourth at the Division 1C Championships before crossing the line in 15:58.3 at the MOC.
