#10 Parker Charter Essential
Powerhouse Parker Charter is back and they’re looking to see if they can match Brookline’s four consecutive state titles. While individual champion Nathanial Henshaw graduated, they’re in an arguably better position than they were a year ago, with six of their top seven returning.
After a phenomenal freshman season, Jett Johnson will look to step up to the mantle as the panther’s top runner and possibly chase an individual title of his own. While he was only seventeenth last year at the Meet of Champs, his progress continued on the oval, culminating in a 9:30 Two Mile and 4:25 Mile.
Incoming Senior Cypress Lance was literally right behind Johnson last year, finishing 18th in 16:47 at Fort Devens. If he can keep the same distance with Johnson up front, the Panthers will have an unshakable 1-2 punch. Fellow star freshmen Zephyr Schermerhorn had one of his best races last year at the Meet of Champions, finishing a few ticks back in 16:51. Danny Garrison was 33rd in 17:13 and should be able to crack 17 this season. His PR is 16:20 and 4:30 for the Mile this outdoor season. That would give the panthers a top four all under 17 at the state meet course.
The fifth position should be up for grabs between Nathan Davis and Stellan Ogilvie. Davis has run 17:16 while Ogilvie has run 17:17.
