Nor’Easter Forces Postponement Of Frank Kelly Invitational

The Wrentham Developmental Center, a familiar venue for several cross-country competitions in Massachusetts, was set to open its gates this Saturday for the first statewide meet of the fall season with the annual MSTCA Frank Kelley Invitational.

Unfortunately, the predicted Nor’ Easter that’s expected to hit the region has forced officials to postpone the meet. According to the MSTCA, as of now meet officials are determining whether a suitable date can be determined for possible rescheduling.

The meet gives runners from every class a chance to shine, with separate Large and Small School 3K races for freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Sandwiched between those races are two Open Varsity 5K competitions, scheduled for 12 and 12:30 p.m.

The first race begins at 9 a.m., with the Small School Freshman Girls 3K. The final event of the day is the Large School Senior Boys 3K, scheduled for 3:20 p.m.
