The official kickoff to the competitive portion of the Massachusetts cross-country season is set for Sept. 12 with two meets: the MSTCA XC Relays and the Ted Dutkiewicz Invitational.
From there, the schedule becomes jam-packed, with schools traveling throughout the state and beyond for a steady stream of meets over the next couple of months. Don’t blink — the season goes by quickly.
Below, we’ve compiled a list of all the Massachusetts meets, along with some popular out-of-state competitions.
There are a few important dates to take note of. The MIAA Division Championship Meets will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at various venues. The following Saturday, Nov. 21, is the MIAA Meet of Champions at Fort Devens.
Marathon Sports and New Balance will sponsor three meets throughout the fall campaign.
On Sept. 13, the focus shifts to Euro-style cross country with the second annual MARSHVegas Invite at Marshfield (Mass.) Park.
Two weeks later, one of the top meets on the East Coast will take over Goddard State Memorial Park in Warwick, R.I., with the mega-popular Ocean State Invitational. The two-day competition will feature middle school races on Sept. 25 and high school races on Sept. 26.
Finally, MA athletes will get an opportunity to preview Fort Devens ahead of the Meet of Champions at the third annual Devens Pre-Championship Classic on Oct. 10.
