Reggie Lewis Hosts Another Championship-Filled Weekend

Deja Vu?

During the indoor track & field season, it can certainly feel that way. Once again, the weekend will be filled with statewide meets at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Saturday features the annual MSTCA Coaches Invitational, followed on Sunday by the MSTCA Freshman–Sophomore Championship. The first events kickoff at 10 a.m., for each competition.

Both meets are expected to be highly competitive, perhaps even more so than in past seasons. Unlike previous years, the MSTCA Executive Committee has elected to limit each invitational to a single day, moving away from the traditional two-day format that separated Large and Small School competitions.

Once entries are released, we’ll highlight some of the top events to watch at this weekend’s Coaches and Frosh-Soph meets.

As expected this time of year, the competition is beginning to heat up—and for good reason. It’s championship time.

The upcoming week will be dominated by conference and league championships, beginning Sunday at Smith College with the PVIAC Championships. From February 11–15, athletes will compete in the MIAA Divisional State Championships, with the Meet of Champions scheduled for Feb. 21.
