One more meet—possibly two—remain before cross-country season officially comes to a close, with a group of our athletes heading to Franklin Park on Saturday for the Brooks Northeast XC Championships. For the select few who finish in the top 10 of the championship races, a trip to the national meet in San Diego on Dec. 13 awaits.
For most of the state—roughly 99 percent—it’s already time to turn the focus toward indoor track. The league season begins in early December, and statewide competition opens with the annual MSTCA Winter Festival, set for Dec. 13–14 at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Below is this season’s schedule, including several popular out-of-state competitions. Key dates include the MSTCA Indoor State Relays (Jan. 16–18), the MIAA Division Championships (Feb. 11–15), the MIAA Meet of Champions (Feb. 21), the New England Championships (Feb. 28), and the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships (March 12–15). For the first time, the TRACK at new balance will host both the divisional championships and the Meet of Champions.
New Balance and Marathon Sports will also sponsor the 3rd annual Winter Warrior HS Invitational on Dec. 28 at the TRACK at new balance and the East Coast Invitational on Jan. 17 at the PCTA Fieldhouse.
Coming soon: Bay State Running will preview the winter season, highlighting some of the top Massachusetts track & field athletes for the 2025–26 campaign.
