Two remain the same, while their was some changes among the rest in our second installment of the BSR/HOKA Power Rankings. Still holding its No. 1 spot is Brookline. The Warriors demonstrated their strength at last weekend’s Bowdoin Park XC Classic by finishing second in the Varsity 2 race behind consistent national powerhouse Christian Brothers Academy.Brookline scored a low of 55 points to CBA’s 24 points. Here’s the most impressive stat and one that will make the Warriors’ dangerous come Championship time. Just 18 seconds separated their top 6 with times ranging from 16:17 to 16:35 on a very difficult course in Wappinger Falls, NY. Also seeing no movement was Acton-Boxborough, which remained at No. 7.
Making the biggest leap in the rankings was BC High, which jumped five spots to the No. 3 position. The Eagles had a strong showing a few weeks ago at the Ocean State Invitational where their varsity unit placed third overall in the Championship race. Taking runner-up honors in that meet was Newton South, which moved up two spots to No. 2 in the rankings.
Lexington and Algonoquin solidified spots in the top 10 after being listed – In the Hunt. Lexington is at No. 8 and Algonquin is at the ninth spot.
