As expected, this past weekend’s Frank Kelley Invitational was not short on stellar performances by some of our top runners. But under near perfect conditions, two stood out the most among the throng of participants that competed at Wrentham for the first time this cross-country season.
Congratulations to Brookline’s Lucia Werner and Greater Lowell Tech’s Devin Moreau, our female and male recipients of our latest HOKA Athletes of the Week.
Werner added her name to the list of top contenders in Division 1 with her victory in the girls’ Championship race. The Warrior senior broke away from a small lead pack in the late stages of the race en route to a winning time and PR of 18 minutes, 23.9 seconds. The UMass-Lowell bound Moreau coasted to the boys’ crown in the Championship race, clocking a strong 15:27.7 for the 5K course.
