Photographer Byron Flagg was back at Fitchburg State University on Saturday for Day 2 of the MIAA Meet of Champions. Below, check out more great shots from Byron. For additional photos, click on the link below. Above photo is the start of Heat 3 of the girls’ mile, which included para-athlete Madelyn Wilson, an eighth-grader from Notre Dame Academy. Wilson finished with a time of 6:31.36.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin’s Kylee Bernard is all alone at the finish as she captures her second straight 400-meter crown. She broke the tape in 55.38.

Early in the race, St. John’s Prep’s Nathan Lopez leads a tight pack in the mile. Lopez went on to win with a time of 4:12.99, just strides ahead of Waltham’s Brendan Wilder, who crossed the line at 4:13.44. It was Lopez second individual crown of the MOC. He also broke the meet record in the two mile on Thursday with an 8:59.29 clocking. The Eagles standout also anchored his team’s winning 4x800m (7:52.31).

Franklin’s Sarah Dumas completes the double on Saturday. After winning the pentathlon two days earlier, the Panther senior was back on top with a victory in the 100m hurdles. Dumas was timed in 14.37. Newton North’s Kiran George, right, was second at 14.53. Finishing third was Plymouth South’s Kam Travis, left, at 15.11.
