We’ll be honest, as the meets get closer and closer to the Meet of Champions, and even beyond, it’s going to start getting more and more difficult choosing what we consider the right individual for our HOKA Athlete of the Week.
For our female recipient we had a few that were worthy of this week’s honor. But the one that stood out the most to us was the performance of Westborough pole-vaulter Melinda Haagensen at the Weston Twilight Invitational . The Colgate signee, who was the Division 3 champion last spring, soared to a new school record with a state-leading 12 feet, 4 inches. Her effort is a best by 10 inches!
