Preseason Boys #16: Billerica

Billerica may be the most interesting team in the Bay State. They return the second fastest miler in the state and one of the fastest freshmen in the country in Shane Leslie and Mason Niles. Technically neither is their top XC returnee based off time.

Preseason Girls #16: Bishop Feehan

Bishop Feehan was fourth in the Division 1C race last season and return six of their top 7. That squad was able to qualify for the Meet of Champions and will bring that experience into next season. Up front Sophie Shaw and Ally Oram will lead the way.

Preseason Boys #17: Amherst Pelham Regional

If all goes well, Amherst-Pelham could emerge as the top team out of Western Mass next season. A few squads farther down our list will have something to say about that, but after a strong outdoor season, Amherst-Pelham will look to make a lot of noise this fall.

Preseason Girls #17: North Quincy

North Quincy had a young team last year that still managed to place ninth at the Division 1B race. After gaining championship experience, they return almost their entire roster for the 2025 season.

Preseason Boys #18: Arlington

That’s right. We have both the boys and girls from Arlington coming in at 18 on our list.

The boy’s team returns this season with a familiar face up front and a fresh group of Juniors looking to make a splash this year.

Preseason Girls #18: Arlington

The Spy Ponders return five of their top seven from a team last season that was third in the competitive Middlesex League. They’ll be led by Junior Nora Chan who has big shoes to fill after the graduation of Evie Lauzon.

One Last Look At The Meet Of Champions

The Meet of Champions (MOC) at Fort Devens was everything we expected this past weekend for the multitude of runners that poured their hearts out on the grounds of Willard Park. It always great to see the excitement and enthusiasm that these championship meets bring […]

MIAA Meet Of Champions: Recap Of Boys’ Races

Not too long after an impressive victory at the Ocean State Invitational at the start of the season, Paul Bergeron had what he called, “a little hiccup,” where he suffered a slight back injury. The setback forced the Westford Academy standout to resort to cross-training for about a month of an already-short cross-country season. “After […]

MOC Preview: Division 1 Boys’ & Girls’ Races

The early forecast for Saturday’s Meet of Champions is showing a more than 50-percent chance of rain for most of day and the temperature in the 50-degree range. Not exactly ideal for racing, but manageable. After all, this is cross country. What runners and teams do we feel will be able to weather the storm […]
