Saturday’s Battle of the Border had unusually high temperatures for the first Saturday in October, reaching 82 degrees at one point. Still, that didn’t deter the contingents from Massachusetts and New Hampshire that showed up for the annual state battle. While New Hampshire got the win overall, there were some outstanding performances from athletes from the Bay State.

This weekend promised loads of action and it did not disappoint. On Saturday, Rhode Island’s Goddard State Park welcomed the 17th annual Ocean State Invitational. For the Bay State, it might as well have been its home turf. Brookline and Concord-Carlisle Shine at Amherst

This past weekend was jam packed with races, so you’d be excused if you missed one. Stanley Park wasn’t the only venue in Western Mass that hosted a meet, as the Umass XC course was the site of the Amherst Invitational. Two top ranked teams from the Bay State came away with victories.
