#1 Girls Lexington tops #4 Winchester, 16-44

The #1 Lexington Girls had their biggest dual meet of the season yesterday and made it very clear who runs the Middlesex League. Led by Jane Conrad up front, the Minutewomen took the top four spots. Conrad led the way in a PR of 17:55 over the 5K course, followed by Callie Glenn in 18:28, Ella Tyson in 18:31, and Alycia Charest in 18:47. Emma Kosnik was sixth overall in 19:13. Conrad’s time currently ranks sixth in the state.

Winchester’s Caroline Lanz was able to break up the Lexington pack, running 19:01 for fifth place. It is worth noting that Winchester was without both Julia Ramsey and Riley Newman. Hopefully we’ll see them at the Middlesex League Championships on 10/27.

#2 Boys Lexington defeats Winchester, 20-43

Fresh of their dominant win at Wickham Park, the Lexington boys rolled with what could be dubbed their Varsity B team. While Winchester’s Noah Damaske got the win in a PR of 16:12. He had to fight to the line, as Lexington’s Eric House and Will Parker were right on his heels in 16:13 and 16:14. The Minutemen then took the next six spots to secure the win. In total, Lexington had nine runners break 17 minutes.

Lexington has the Catholic Memorial Invitational on Schedule this weekend. Between the Boys and Girls, it will be interesting to see who they run.

#7 Boys Reading tops Arlington, 23-32

The #7 ranked Reading team were tested by league rival Arlington yesterday at McClennen Park. Reading’s Tim Connolly got the win, topping Arlington’s Owen Merrill, 16:08 to 16:12. This continues to be a breakout season for Merrill, as he’s lowered his PR by 30 seconds.

Andrew Princic and Max King were third and fourth overall for Reading, helping to secure the win. Nico Peukert was second for Arlington and rounded out the top five finishers. Despite the loss, Arlington continues to show that they can compete with the best and are a team to watch out for in Division 1B. These two teams meet again at the Middlesex League Championships.

Wakefield Girls defeat Wilmington 18-41

Wakefield’s Quin Wilcox continues her torrid season, running a 5K PR of 18:51 to lead her team to victory. Teammate Liza Bangston was second overall in 20:38. Leading the way for Wilmington was Charlotte Kiley, running 21:14.

Wakefield battled back with Alec Buonopane-Cohen and Max Viselli securing fourth and fifth position for the Warriors.

The script was flipped again when Wilmington grabbed the next two positions with David Dynan and Jake Cronin. Both teams were neck and neck, but Wakefield prevailed when they got their next four runners in, led by Sean Marra.

Belmont Boys defeat Woburn, 20-37
