A big weekend of action means a lot of results to comb through. While most of the attention went to Twilight and Devens, there was also out of state competition with Wickham Park and the Manhattan Invitational. Let’s dive in.
Concord-Carlisle remains atop our list after an arguably their most impressive win at the Devens Pre-Championship Classic, scoring 45 points. Not all courses are created equal and that was on full display as we compare some of the blazing times at Twilight to Devens. They put five runners in the top 13, and their top seven in the top 21. Their top five ran between 15:56 and 16:13, phenomenal times at Devens. For reference, 16:16 would have been top 15 last season.
Cambridge Rindge and Latin and Boston College High School gave them all they could handle scoring 61 and 69 points and occupy our #4 and 5 spots. Super Freshman Thomas Dewitt led the way for the Falcons, running 15:50 proving his run at Bay State was no fluke. While they were third, BC High may have cracked the code to defeating Concord-Carlisle. The Eagles were able to get their top two runners, race winner Greg McGrath and Colin Kurtz, in before Concord-Carlisle’s first. If they’re vulnerable anywhere, it’s up top. At this point, no one is getting their top five (or seven) in before them. Concord-Carlisle is a juggernaut right now, but at full strength, BC High may be able to get them.
The most dominant performance of the weekend goes to Lexington, who move up to #2. The Minutemen went down to Wickham Park and ran like it was a dual meet. They won with a score of 16. You read that correctly. Led by race winner Patrick Noonan, Lexington went 1-4, narrowly missing the perfect score. Andrew Zhang finished sixth overall.

Brookline moves into #3 after an impressive win in the Large Schools race at Twilight. Their top three broke 16 and top seven broke 17. (They also had a strong showing in the JV Race.) While they may not have the depth of Concord-Carlisle, their 1-2 punch of Liam Hartman and Theodore Butty gives them an advantage.
Lowell returns to our list after winning the Varsity B race at Manhattan. After starting the year on our preseason list, Lowell looks to be rounding into form. Competing in Division 1A, they’ll need to be on top of their game to make it to the Meet of Champs. Catholic Memorial were runner up in the Varsity C at Manhattan as well.
Parker Charter, Longmeadow, and Amherst Pelham all move up in our rankings after strong performances at Twilight. Longmeadow and Parker Charter won their respective races on Saturday. Weston debuts on our list at #20, after finishing fourth in the Medium School race. Their top two runners, Mathew Fitzgibbon and Aarav Mehta both broke 16.
