11. Concord Carlisle
The third-place team from the Division 1B meet last year returns its top six from last fall. Not only that, but those six were all underclassmen last season making Concord Carlisle one of the top teams to watch this season.
They’re led by incoming Junior Maria Chopas who followed her outstanding fall campaign with a 10:53 Two-Mile in the spring. The quartet of juniors Alex Skelly, Abigail Adams, Allison Sheppard, and Pelin Turner round out the top five having run between 20:02 and 20:53. Skelly came in at 11th last season in Division 1B and should give the Patriots two runners in the top 10.
Concord-Carlisle also had two strong freshmen in Maeve Sullivan and Liliana Miles last season that will be worth monitoring. After strong outdoor seasons, they should battle it out for spots on the Varsity squad.
The question facing Concord Carlisle will be how much do they need to improve? They’ll want to move up from their third-place last season, however, the two teams that finished ahead of them also project to be very strong.
