17. Amherst-Pelham Regional
If all goes well, Amherst-Pelham could emerge as the top team out of Western Mass next season. A few squads farther down our list will have something to say about that, but after a strong outdoor season, Amherst-Pelham will look to make a lot of noise this fall.
The Hurricanes return five of their top seven from last season and top returnees Calvin Miller and Nicolas Lisle will be a strong 1-2 after running 9:36 (Miller) and 4:26 (Lisle) this past outdoor season. The duo finished 16th and 17th last season at the Division 2B race and helped secure third place for their team.
However, fifth man (last season) Peter Nadeau could be the game changer they need. After going 17:11 in the fall, he ran 9:46 for the two-mile. A strong battle for their fourth spot could lift them up all season. Look out for this squad at the Amherst Invitational to get an idea of how their top seven may look.
