18. Arlington
The Spy Ponders return five of their top seven from a team last season that was third in the competitive Middlesex League. They’ll be led by Junior Nora Chan who has big shoes to fill after the graduation of Evie Lauzon. If she can find herself amongst the top five at that meet, she’ll have Arlington off to a great start.
From there Arlington brings back five more runners that have run under 22 minutes for 5k. Incoming sophomores Sofia Faust and Anika McKeown will be worth monitoring after strong freshmen seasons. Faust was their top runner in the two miles this outdoor season and if she can make a big sophomore leap this year, she could help push Arlington to league contention.
Chloe Reinelt was their third runner last season and comes back as potentially their number two and may be the key to Arlington ascending to the next level. Another factor could be Senior Caroline Herr. She missed last XC season but ran a 5:36 this outdoor season. Keep an eye on those early season Middlesex League Meets.
