Memorable Moments, Spring 2025: Deardorf Soars To State’s No. 7 All-Time At New Balance Nationals

It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Lexington’s Aubrey Deardorf.

One of the state’s most impressive records for girls is the long jump mark of 20 feet, 11.75 inches, set by former Medford standout Arantxa King at the World Youth Championships in 2025. While breaking that 20-year-old record may seem like a long shot, it could still be within reach for Deardorf, who has one more year left in her high school career. The Lexington junior put herself in the conversation, thanks to an exceptional spring campaign in her specialty. Deardorf, the Division 1 and Meet of Champions champion, exceeded 19 feet on six occasions this season, including a personal best of 19-9 at the New Balance Nationals, an effort that placed her fifth place overall and All-American honors. Currently ranked No. 7 all-time in the state’s history, Deardorf is showing that she’s capable of making a serious push toward that 20-foot barrier in the near future.
