Memorable Moments, Spring 2025: Kyle Goes Sub-52 For 400m IH At Meet Of Champions

It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Westford Academy’s Ryan Kyle.

Back on May 3, Kyle gave us a preview of what was instore in the coming weeks in the 400-meter hurdles when he broke 54 seconds for the first time at the Weston Twilight Invitational. The WA senior came just seven hundredths of a second from the state record with a winning time and then PR of 53.37 seconds. To say his season took off from there, would be an understatement to the highest degree. Less than three weeks later, Kyle broke the state mark by capturing his specialty at the Dual County League Championships in 52.72. He lowered it two more times, capturing the Div. 1 title in 52.12 and the Meet of Champions in an astonishing 51.52, a time that ranked No. 9 in the country by season’s end.
