It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Peabody’s Alex Jackson.
When it comes to the shot, there’s been no one better in the state this year than Jackson. The Tanners’ talented junior was unbeaten against his MA rivals in 2024, a year highlighted by a bevy of 60-footers in his specialty as well as individual victories at the MIAA Meet of Champions on both the indoor and outdoor surfaces. Jackson also proved to be one of our best in the discus where he had a PR of 176-4, an effort that produced a second-place finish to Arlington’s Alexander Fitzsimmons at the Division 2 Championships. At the MOC this past spring, Jackson was on his game once again. He was able to not only avenge his only loss in the discus versus his MA competitors, but also unleashed his all-time best in the shot with a winning distance of 61-5.
