It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Bay State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Wellesley’s Christopher Brooks.
When it came to the sprints, be it winter or spring, there was no one better than the Raiders’ Brooks. The speedy senior was unbeaten against his MA rivals in the 55-meter dash, 100m and 200m in 2024. While he wasn’t able to compete in the Meet of Champions this past June, Brooks proved to be the fastest in the 200m with an eye-popping performance at MSTCA Coaches Invitational on May 11. On a perfect day for racing at Braintree High, Brooks defended his crown in the half-lapper by blasting to a PR of 21.20 seconds, an effort that ranks No. 5 all-time in the Bay State. The Wellesley standout would conclude his final season in-state as a high-schooler at the MIAA Division 2 Championships (May 24 & 26) by making it back-to-back titles in the 100m (10.72) and the 200m (21.36).
