Over a four-day stretch from Thursday to Sunday this past week, we saw 12 teams (boys & girls) crowned champions in their respective division and a whole bunch of track & field athletes enjoying the ultimate thrill of winning an individual or relay title at the MIAA Division State Championships.
Now it’s down to two days and just one meet. The competition’s a lot tougher and, some may say, the stakes a little higher. The final statewide competition of the season, the final statewide competition of the entire year, has arrived with the MIAA Meet Of Champions (MOC). The best of the best in all 19 events will be at Fitchburg State University for the Big Dance.
For some athletes, this will be the final meet of their high school careers. For others, there’s more to come with a postseason that also features the New England Championships and potentially one of three national meets in mid June.
Bay State Running will once again preview the upcoming MOC. What are some of the top storylines on the boys’ and girls’ side? We’ll have it here. Below are links to the SCHEDULE and ENTRIES/LIVE RESULTS.
