Just like last week, we coudn’t just pick one when it came down to picking the HOKA Athletes of the Week. For the six runners we chose for this week’s honor, all the hard work, all the sacrifices that were made were rewarded this past Saturday with a trip out west in two of the most pressure-filled meets of the season, the Foot Locker Northeast Regionals and the Nike Cross Regional – Northeast. Congratulations to all our six recipients – Westford Academy teammates Paul Bergeron (second, 15:02) and Jack Graffeo (eighth, 15:11), Phillip Academy’s Tamrat Gavenas (fourth, 15:07), Belmont’s Ellie Shea (second, 17:21) and Cambridge Rindge & Latin’s Aoife Shovlin (tenth, 18:16) from Foot Locker Northeast, who are heading to San Diego for the Nationals on Dec. 9, and Oliver Ames’ Katie Sobieraj (eighth, 18:56.9) from NXR-NE, who will be in Portland, Ore., this Saturday for the Nationals.
