Memorable Moments, 2023: Golembiewski Takes 400mIH At Weston
When it came to the hurdles this year, there was simply no one better than Sean Golembiewski. The Hopkinton senior won the 55-meter hurdles at the Meet of Champions during the indoor season and when the competition moved to the outdoor surface, continued his dominance by taking home the 110m HH and 400m IH titles at last month’s championship meet. While he blazed to a PR of 53.82 to capture the 400m IH at the MOC, we’re listing his win at the Weston Twilight as one of the most memorable. It was there that he broke 54 seconds for the first time in only his third time running the event. Golembiewski defended his crown with a nearly three-second best of 53.95. He finished nearly two seconds ahead of runner-up Noah Stegmeier of Acton-Boxborough, the same runner who would take the silver at the MOC.
